A friend of Ani, Patty, Catie, and Joan (that's DiFranco, Griffin, Curtis, and Baez, in case you were wondering) plays the Somerville Theatre tonight. The folksy Dar Williams, known for introspective lyrics and liberal views, has a new album, "Promised Land," that features songs about politics and family and includes guest spots from Marshall Crenshaw and Suzanne Vega.
