Jackson Browne certainly has a way with words. Consider this lyric from the title track of his 1986 "Lives in the Balance" album: "They sell us the president the same way they sell us our clothes and cars." Still pretty relevant today, wouldn't you say? Or this simple yet profound statement from "Take it Easy": "We may lose and we may win, but we will never be here again." The singer-songwriter/social activist is in town tonight to promote his new record, "Time the Conqueror," which will be released Sept. 23. 7:30 p.m. $35-$49.50. Orpheum Theatre, 1 Hamilton Pl., Boston. 866-448-7849. www.livenation.com
