Instead of using that old dog-ate-my-homework excuse, we recommend singing your teacher these lines from "Homework," a jazzy blues track from the new Gary Bernath Band record, "Wait on Time." "The way you love me, love me so, I can't do my homework anymore." OK, that probably won't get you out of doing your school work, but your teacher might at least ask you to download the track onto his iPod. You can hear "Homework" and other original blues tunes, plus blues and rock covers, at the Boston band's CD release party tonight in Marlborough. 9:30 p.m. $7 . Dante's at Firefly's, 350 East Main St., Route 20, Marlborough. 508-357-8883. garybernathband .home.comcast.net
