With their disco bass thump, tinny drum machine bounce, talk box vocals, and all around retro dance party aesthetic, you'd be forgiven for mistaking Chromeo's music for some artifact unearthed from a lost era. Instead it's just another modern-day product of the nonstop '80s rehash. But more important, it's funky as all get out. If dancing hadn't already been invented, songs like "Tenderoni" from the duo's 2004 debut, "She's in Control," would have taught all of us how. The New York/Montreal, Arab/Jewish collaboration between P-Thugg and Dave1 gets the party moving tonight. 18+ 7 p.m. Paradise Rock Club, 967 Commonwealth Ave., Boston. 617-931-2000. www.ticket master.com
