Have piano, will travel

NOTE: This event has been canceled.

Traveling with a violin or flute is easier than schlepping a grand piano, but with his piano-building expertise, Krystian Zimerman travels the world with his instrument (no, it's not inflatable). The Polish musician is a master of several styles and genres, and his concert program often features works that originated where he is performing - some Schubert in Vienna, a little Brahms in Hamburg. The award-winning musician was the last pianist who played under Leonard Bernstein in concert and recording sessions. Tonight's program includes Bach's Partita No. 2 in C minor and Brahms's Klavierstucke, Op. 119. 8 p.m. $45, $56. Jordan Hall, 30 Gainsborough St.,Boston. 617-482-6661. www.celebrityseries.org
