The red shoes

Robin Batteau got his folk education as a lad when his father, a Harvard professor, took him to Club 47 (now Club Passim) to see Joan Baez and Tom Rush. The bar was set high and it remains there when he performs with partner David Buskin. The singing-songwriting team of Buskin & Batteau celebrate the release of their new CD, "Red Shoes and Golden Hearts," with a party in Marblehead. And if you wear red shoes tonight, a free CD is yours (one to a couple), so brush off your ruby slippers, high-top sneakers, or girly-girl stilettos and join the party. 8 p.m. $18. Me & Thee Coffeehouse, 28 Mugford St., Marblehead. 781-631-8987. www.meandthee.org
