The BSO will honor retiring harpist Ann Hobson Pilot.
Music director James Levine will open the Boston Symphony Orchestra's 2009-10 season on Sept. 23 with the premiere of John Williams's "On Willows and Birches," written as a tribute to the BSO's retiring harpist Ann Hobson Pilot.
