Since 1929, the Boston Pops has delivered free concerts on the DCR Hatch Memorial Shell. (We vividly remember attending one in the ’50s and having our photo taken by that other newspaper.) Fireworks popped onto the scene in 1974, and 35 years later they’re still lighting up the sky. Craig Ferguson hosts tomorrow’s “Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular’’ with super-duper guest Neil Diamond and Keith Lockhart. Diamond, backed by the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, will treat revelers to his hit parade (“Sweet Caroline’’ would do just fine). July 4 at 8:30 p.m., fireworks at 10:30 p.m., weather permitting. Free. DCR Hatch Memorial Shell, Boston. www.july4th.org
