Orquesta Bacharengue uses the popular Dominican Republic music styles, bachata and merengue, to create their name and to give you a hot night of Latin music. Berklee faculty member Ricardo Monzón leads the group of faculty, students, and Boston-area musicians at this first of four Tito Puente Latin Music Series concerts. Stop by to celebrate the legacy of the series’ namesake. 7-9 p.m., rain or shine (Thursday series continues through July 30 at Villa Victoria O’Day Park in the South End). Free. Mozart Park, intersection of Mozart and Centre streets, Jamaica Plain. 617-927-1717. www.berklee.edu
