Growing up in LA surrounded by his parents’ friends Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, and other musical deities left its mark on a young Lenny Kravitz. The lad later went through a Prince-obsessed phase followed by a rock homage to Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, and the Beatles. The 45-year-old pop rocker celebrates the 20th anniversary of his debut album, “Let Love Rule,’’ with a performance covering his 20-year-plus career. Oct. 21 at 7:30 p.m. $45, $49.50. Orpheum Theatre, 1 Hamilton Place, Boston. 877-598-8689. www.live nation.com
