Rachel York is a Broadway veteran, but the Drama Desk Award-winner might find herself upstaged by 15 adorable pooches in “The 101 Dalmatians Musical.’’ As Cruella de Vil, York will star opposite the dalmatians, most of which were rescued from animal shelters. The human cast performs on stilts to give the audience a dog’s-eye view of the world. The score, by Styx lead singer Dennis DeYoung, features “Song of the Twilight Barking,’’ “One True Love,’’ and “Cruella Always Gets Her Way.’’ Dec. 23 at 1 and 7:30 p.m. (through Dec. 27). $28-$75. Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theatre , 270 Tremont St., Boston. 866-348-9738. www.citicenter.org
