Leading off the new year with an ambitious program, James Levine conducts the BSO, members of the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, and vocal soloists in a double-bill devoted to Stravinsky’s “Oedipus Rex’’ and Bartok’s “Bluebeard’s Castle.’’ The cast includes Michelle DeYoung, Russell Thomas, Matthew Plenk, Albert Dohmen, and Raymond Aceto. CHAMBER MUSIC FOR FOOD BANK

Violist Kim Kashkashian has organized a series of one-hour benefit chamber concerts, with each program featuring a Mozart Viola Quintet paired with a solo Bach work. In addition to Kashkashian, this week’s performers include Robin Scott, Pamela Frank, Dimitri Murrath, Ahrim Kim, and Tom Novak.
