M83 blasts off at House of Blues
The backdrop for the stage at the House Of Blues - a large black sheet spattered with light bulbs that with very little imagination calls to mind a star field - seemed especially appropriate on Sunday, when M83 played to a sold-out house. It was hard to find a moment when the group wasn’t attempting to simulate interstellar overdrive. Considering the number of M83 songs that reference outer space in one way or another, that’s not necessarily even a metaphor.
