CLEVELAND—Hard rockers Guns N' Roses have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame without lead singer Axl Rose.

Guns N' Roses burst onto the scene with both barrels blaring in the mid 1980s. Their debut album, "Appetite for Destruction" was a shot in the arm to a stale genre and established GNR as a global force.

The band bickered for years before splitting. Earlier this week, Rose ended any hope fans had for a reunion of the original lineup when he announced he would skip Saturday night's ceremony in Cleveland and declined induction.

Green Day inducted Guns N' Roses. Members of the group accepted the honor dressed in striking black outfits, their fists raised in response to cheers from the audience.
