Dayna Kurtz has heard this theory before. It’s the one about how her blessing is also her curse. She has spent her life credibly, beautifully singing everything from jazz, folk, and R&B to blues, rock, and country. It poses a question: Where does she fit, exactly? “It’s been a problem,” Kurtz says between bites of sushi after her performance at Johnny D’s last month. “It’s a blessing musically, but mostly it’s been a curse.”
