Pops Goes My Morning Jacket

Posted by Joan Anderman May 26, 2006 12:17 PM

Our well-connected friend and talented colleague Geoff Edgers (aka The Exhibitionist) sent the following missive, direct from the hallowed hall.

Now, Letterman's cool. But what about the Boston gigs?

The set list is developing, and though My Morning Jacket and the Pops didn't want to reveal exactly what they'll play during a pair of June concerts, we did take a peek over a shoulder or two while watching Jim James and Co. work on arrangements with Pops tunesmith Patrick Hollenbeck earlier this week. Don't expect the symphonic surroundings to soften MMJ. They're almost definitely going to play the electric "Run Thru." They're also likely to do "Golden" and "Gideon," both played when MMJ opened for Pearl Jam this week. Our request: "Lay Low." Feel free to send your own ideas to the Exhibitionist.
