So you've got your "American Idol," your "Rock Star," and your "I'm a Celebrity But I Want to Be a Pop Star." What do you get when you combine all three? Fox's upcoming series "Celebrity Duets." The show, which premieres August 29, has just announced the line-up of actual vocalists who will team up with non-singing celebs for hilarious musical hijinks. Or maybe-- since they haven't announced the celebs yet--cringe-inducing, non-musical low-jinks. Either way, count us in.

The musical line-up includes, among others, endearing soul whackjob Macy Gray, Motown legend Smokey Robinson, soul desecrater Michael Bolton, 80's pop chanteuse-- and current star of "Threepenny Opera" on Broadway-- Cyndi Lauper, country great Clint Black, Dionne Warwick and Aaron Neville, he of the angelic voice and the infamous mole.

For every week the celebs survive the caustic judging of music impresario David Foster and a public vote, they will be mentored by the aforementioned singers. The winner will receive a "sizable donation" to a charity of their choice. Simon Cowell of "Idol" fame is, natch, an executive producer.
