And speaking of Kelly Clarkson, I'd like any of the readers out there in Boston.com land to answer this question for me -- drop me an email, and I'll try to include some of the answers in a future post. Why, exactly, is Kelly Clarkson the mainstream pop goddess of choice for every single 30-and-under resident of Allston, Massachusetts? In other words, what makes this particular woman so attractive to kids who fawn over their obscure vinyl collection and asymmetrically cut hair?

A friend recently suggested that the Clarkson-love in the environs of Harvard Avenue (and in the slightly more upscale apartments of Union Square) has something to do with how "genuine" Clarkson is. Yeah. That's it.

So let's try again: someone? Anyone?
