Update on the Pad

Posted by Matt Shaer August 14, 2006 03:38 PM

Although the future of the Lily Pad is far from clear, this article does a better job of explaining the situation than the email excerpt I posted on Friday (which blamed the closure on noise complaints). For now, the crux of the matter appears to be owner Gill Aharon's failure to obtain the appropriate licenses for the venue. I've also heard from several musicians -- and from some readers of this blog -- that the complaints are flowing freely into Cambridge's License Commission. Best to let the dust settle, I think.
