Grammy Post-Script - 9:00 a.m. Notable Notes and a Mea Culpa

Posted by Sarah Rodman February 12, 2007 08:41 AM

In the cold, harsh light of the morning I realized I made a mistake last night. In my zeal to win the great Grammy Prediction Battle, I confused who I wanted to win with who I actually said would. D'oh! So the final score was actually Rodman, 4-Anderman, 2. My apologies to my colleague. I'm hoping to find an appropriate outpatient program to get the counseling I need to prevent such further awards show memory malfunctions.

Notes:

A few folks with local ties won awards in the kids' categories including former Bostonian and Del Fuego Dan Zanes who picked up "Best Musical Album for Children" and Seekonk resident Bill Harley who nabbed "Best Spoken Word Album for Children." Love his album title: "Blah Blah Blah: Stories About Clams, Swamp Monsters, Pirates and Dogs."

OK Go got some love for their You Tube-powered video sensation. "Here it Goes Again"-- the one with the treadmills-- won "Best Short Form Music Video."

Ponder this: The Black Eyed Peas now have a GRAMMY for "My Humps." (Best Pop Performance By a Duo or Group With Vocals).
