Mercurial singer-songwriter Cat Power has won the sixth annual Shortlist Music Prize for her 2006 album "The Greatest," an homage to Southern soul and pop. She's the first woman to take the honor, which comes with a $5,000 cash prize and was awarded this year by an all-star panel of judges including Franz Ferdinand, Panic! At The Disco, last year's winner Sufjan Stevens, and members of Snow Patrol, Flaming Lips, and the Killers. The Shortlist recognizes artists who have sold less than 500,000 copies of their album.
