"Come Together," the tribute concert for Brad Delp at the Bank of America Pavilion is on for August 19.
Although a press release sent out a few weeks back, and recalled by promoter Live Nation, initially named Robin Zander of Cheap Trick and Gary Cherone of Extreme/Van Halen as special guests, the new release offers Sammy Hagar, Michael Sweet of Stryper and Mickey Thomas of Starship as the special friends sitting in with Boston.
According to a statement on the Boston website the original members will regroup for the final song "Don't Look Back," which will be sung by Fran Cosmo.
Organized by Delp's adult children Jennifer and John-Michael, proceeds from the show will benefit the DTS Charitable Foundation and the newly formed Brad Delp Foundation which will provide assistance to school music education programs. Jennifer, a USC film school grad, will also screen a film she wrote and directed about her dad. The show will be hosted by VH1 Classics VJ--and former Mix 98.5 morning show gal-- Lynn Hoffman.
Tickets go on sale at 10 am on July 9 and are $35.00. Call 617-931-2000 or go to TicketMaster.com.
