Song Remains the Same...Again

By almost all accounts the big Zep reunion show last night at London's new 02 Arena was a smashing success: New York Times here, Rolling Stone here , full setlist here, and, just for kicks, a piece from the Telegraph in London here, that argues Zep shouldn't embark on a longer reunion tour and risk besmirching the rare glow of this one-off. (The show was a tribute to late Atlantic Records co-founder Ahmet Ertegun and benefitted an education fund started in his name.)

Also, in case you missed it, an Op-Ed from Saturday's Globe that asserts that this reunion, and its attendant reminder of Zep's synthesis of eastern and western sounds, could be a force for peace.

Playing well and playing songs like "Kashmir," "Whole Lotta Love," "Dazed and Confused"- complete with bowed solo- and "Misty Mountain Hop"? For Zep fans, that sounds pretty sweet.

There's also good news for fans of the Zep frontman's newest effort, his collaboration with Alison Krauss "Raising Sand." The duo were nominated for a Grammy last week in the Best Pop Vocal Collaboration category and CMT just announced that the Feb. 11, 2008 installment of its popular "Crossroads" series will feature the golden-haired pair.
