Joseph Arthur On a Roll

Joseph Arthur is taking a cue from that other fabulously prolific and totally unpredictable tunesmith, Ryan Adams, and will release five (count 'em) five projects in 2008 on his own Lonely Astronaut label. A pair of EPs comes out this spring: "Could We Survive," billed as raw, atmospheric pop, is due March 18, followed on April 15 by the techno-leaning "Crazy Rain and Boredom." Two more EPS will be out May 13 and June 24, leading up to the Aug. 5 release of the full-length album "All You Need is Nothing." Arthur wrote, played, and produced the new material, and recorded it at the Museum of Modern Arthur, his Brooklyn art gallery. Guy's a painter, too. Sound Effects wonders what he does in his spare time.
