U2 Hearts Live Nation

Five months after Madonna announced her plans to leave her longtime record label in order to launch a 360-degree partnership with Live Nation, U2 announced today that it has signed a 12-year contract with Live Nation, giving the company global rights to the band's digital, merchandising, touring, and branding rights. Unlike Madonna, however, U2 -- currently at work on its next studio album with producers Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois -- will continue the band's long-term recording and publishing relationship with Universal Music Group.
