Wilco To Play Tanglewood

Alt-country/experimental rock heroes Wilco make their Tanglewood debut this summer, with an August 12 date in the hallowed outdoor shed. AP-level singer-songwriter-violinist-whistler Andrew Bird opens the show. All respect to James Taylor and Harry Connick, Jr., but this is a timely step in the right direction for Tanglewood. Why should baby boomers have all the bucolic Berkshires fun? Tickets for the show -- Wilco's only New England appearance this summer -- are $26 for the lawn and $36 for the shed, and go on sale April 25 at tanglewood.org or 888-266-1200.
