The Pernice Brothers, indie-rock pride 'o the South Shore and really big Red Sox fans, have resurrected "Moonshot Manny," their 2004 paean to Manny Ramirez, and none too soon. The song is available as a free download at the band's website until the slugger hits his 500th homerun.

"It's the least we can do," says Joe Pernice, "and we always like to do the least we can do." "We're betting that the 500th will come on May 22," says the band's manager Joyce Linehan. "That's the feast day of St. Rita of Cascia, who is the patron saint of baseball, as well as impossible dreams."
