Amanda Palmer Hearts the Boston Pops
Amanda Palmer makes her Symphony Hall debut tonight and tomorrow with the Boston Pops, and anyone familiar with the Dresden Dolls' deliciously dark catalog can tell you she's going to bring a brand new edge to Edgefest. I'm curious as to exactly how Mr. Eichler and the Boston Globe decide which Pops concerts are worthy of review and which should simply be ignored. I ask this not because I have any objection to a review of Amanda Palmer, but because I looked in vain for a review of last week's concert version of Stephen Sondheim's "A Little Night Music" which starred Christine Ebersole, the winner of two Tony Awards and indisputably one of today's greatest Broadway stars. The Herald managed to find space for a review and I was disappointed that the Globe didn't think any of it's readers would care to know about this performance.
