Ashlee Simpson, who is expecting a baby with her new husband, Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, has pulled the plug on her upcoming tour, which included a June 27 date at the Cape Cod Melody Tent. Medical reasons related to her pregnancy is the official explanation. After careful consideration, Ashlee Simpson has decided to cancel her summer 2008 tour. She is committed to giving her fans the best show possible, and will be back better than ever and ready to rock in the future,” says a statement from her publicist. Tickets for Simpson's concerts have been moving at the rate of frozen molasses, but far be it for Sound Effects to suggest that sluggish sales had anything to do with the tour's cancellation. Refunds are available at the original point of purchase. For more information call the Melody Tent box office at 508-775-5630.
