It seems like everyone has an inner musician just itching to get out and shine. To that end a new occasional-Thursdays series dubbed "Executive Sessions" at Cafe 939 seeks to unleash the inner rock star of Hub CEOs and corporate-types.

Tonight's event is "Chip's Country Showcase: A Roll of Quarters and a Pedal Steel," featuring Chip Rives, CEO, TRP Marketing. Rives, who is also the head honcho of the Boston Music Awards, will be playing his own original country songs with help from Mike Elkins and Berklee students Jen Bostic, Adam Tressler, Merrily Scruggs-James, and Ryan Shergold. Tom Glynn opens the show. Tix are $10 at Ticketmaster and 617-931-2000 and proceeds benefit Berklee's scholarship programs.
