Radio on the TV
From the land of HD come these interesting rock 'n' roll tidbits:

-EW is reporting that Foo Fighters will appear on the Thanksgiving episode of "Top Chef" as guest judges. All of the tracks from the band's 1997 album "The Colour and the Shape" can also now be downloaded for play on the video game "Rock Band."

-Just as he's done recently with ventriloquists and impressionists David Letterman is devoting an entire week to tribute bands. Starting next Monday Nov. 17 he will have one band each night paying homage to, respectively, Prince, Johnny Cash, Guns 'N' Roses, Neil Diamond, and James Brown.
The GNR group is none other than Mr. Brownstone, which boasts Rounder Records A&R man Dave Godowsky on rhythm guitar. (That's Izzy Stradlin to you and me). Mr. B will be appearing on the "Late Show" on Nov. 19 alongside guest Tina Fey.

-Finally, according to Variety, Red Hot Chili Peppers singer Anthony Kiedis is getting the HBO treatment. The home of "The Sopranos" and "Sex and the City" wants to turn his childhood story, touched on his autobiography "Scar Tissue," into a series. The show will be a drama with comedic elements that focuses on Kiedis' move as a child from suburban Michigan to L.A. to live with his dad Spider, who was allegedly a drug dealer to the stars and worked the showbiz fringe.
