Live Grammy Nominations show: triumph or trainwreck?

Posted by Michael Saunders December 3, 2008 08:35 PM

We're going to be charting the progress of tonight's live mini-concert, an event that adds a interesting twist to the usual way the Grammy nominations are announced -- a bland, breakfast-time press conference in Los Angeles. The lineup of scheduled performers is pretty solid: Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera, the Foo Fighters, John Mayer and B.B. King.

Will a few announcements be able to string together this disparate crew? We're not betting on it, but hope springs eternal...

For our money -- or lack of it -- we'd rather see the act performing at the after-party: the reunited members of the Time.
