When it comes to releasing videos, never expect the expected from Kanye West.

The MC recently dropped the video for "Lost in the World," the first part of the finale to his critically acclaimed 2010 album, "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy," even though he already released another album, "Watch the Throne," with Jay-Z, and wrapped up a multi-city tour in support of that project.

While it may be on the late side, the video still captures the pulsing energy of the Bon Iver-assisted track. The black and white clip is a collaboration between 'Ye and filmmaker Ruth Hogben, whose professional pedigree includes projects with fashion names from Gareth Pugh to Louis Vuitton.

Lithe dancers in roomy t-shirts work contemporary dance moves on a mirrored surface. West also performs on this surface as clouds drift by. Jittery, strobe-light driven shots of skyscrapers are splashed across the screen as the world the ladies and 'Ye inhabit appears to be coming to a rumbling end.
