Following her VMA win for video of the year for "We Found Love," Rihanna has released the lead single off her not-yet-titled seventh studio album, which is rumored to drop in November.
The track, titled "Diamonds," has a slower tempo than several of the upbeat dance songs off her last album, "Talk That Talk." Although the single's artwork shows RiRi rolling what appears to be a joint with, er, diamonds, the hit forgoes the unhealthy relationship themes that are present in several of her songs. With the lyrics like "I choose to be happy" and "We're like diamonds in the sky," the uplifting new release shows a side of Rihanna we don't get to see often.
The Barbadian pop star recently announced her next world tour, also titled "Diamonds," to begin on March 8, with a stop in Boston on March 10 at the TD Garden. Check out the song below and let us know what you think.
