The art, music, and film festival "South By Southwest" in Austin, Tex., kicked off March 8, and will feature a series of Boston-based bands, including The Parkington Sisters, Millyz, and former Berklee students Air Traffic Control, among others.

The festival's musical component began on March 12, and will run through March 16. So far, it's drawn stars like James Franco, Selena Gomez, and Steve Carrell.
