When Michael Pollack stood up during "An Evening of Questions and Answers and a Little Bit of Music" on Jan. 30, and asked if he could join Billy Joel on stage, there was an almost audible mouth-gaping gasp from the audience.

Pollack's brave, brief request paid off (he didn't dance around the topic) because Joel welcomed the Vanderbilt University student on stage moments later and allowed him to play piano accompaniment for "New York State of Mind." Joel donned sunglasses and faced Pollack at the piano for an intimate, memorable rendition of his classic song.

A YouTube video (above) of the performance now has more than 550,000 views.

What do you think of the video? Anyone you would like to join on stage? Let us know in the comments.
