The House of Blues has voluntarily canceled tonight's Zedd concert after one person died and two others were hospitalized from apparent drug overdoses at the Lansdowne Street club early this morning.

Venue spokesman Jay Anderson released a statement:

In light of last night's tragic events and an active police investigation, tonight’s performance by Zedd has been canceled. Our thoughts are with the families and friends suffering now. The safety of patrons and fans is top priority and all involved continue to work closely in conjunction with local officials on this active investigation.

The Russian musician also performed last night before an adult female was pronounced dead after being transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and an adult female and an adult male were also taken to that hospital in serious condition.

“Last evening, there were guests at our venue in need of medical treatment during the performance. They were assisted by Boston EMS as well as on-site emergency medical personnel and then transported to local medical facilities. One individual has unfortunately passed away and our thoughts go out to their family and friends for their loss. This matter is under investigation and we are continuing to work with local officials,” Anderson told the Globe.
