Shipping up to Boston is right.
Major League Baseball confirmed Wednesday morning that local group Dropkick Murphys will perform the national anthem to kick off Game 6 of the World Series.
The group performed the patriotic song on Oct. 19 before Game 6 of the ALCS at Fenway where the Red Sox clinched a World Series berth. Think it could be good luck?
Check out the performance from a couple weeks ago above.
The group alluded to the performance via Twitter early this morning, saying if Tyler (Aerosmith's Steven Tyler), Wolf (J. Geils Band's Peter Wolf), Taylor (James Taylor), and Marky Mark (Mark Wahlberg) and the Funky Bunch aren't available, then they're down for the task.
Well if Tyler, Wolf, Taylor ,or Marky Mark and the funky bunch aren't available we'd be happy to do the anthem again ...just sayin! #RedSox— Dropkick Murphys (@DropkickMurphys) October 29, 2013
Other 2013 World Series national anthem singers have included James Taylor and Mary J. Blige.
