Madonna through the years

Madonna
Amid news of her divorce from Guy Ritchie, Madonna will perform Oct. 15 and and Oct. 16 at TD Banknorth Garden as part of her "Sticky & Sweet" tour. The pop mega-star hit a milestone this year when she turned 50. "She looks like a superhero and sounds like a sex bomb, but, ironically, Madonna's exercise addiction and disco project actually humanize her. After 25 years of innovative style and artful provocation, she's become something of a cliche: a middle-aged woman clinging to the past," writes the Globe's Joan Anderman (read Anderman's full article).
