So what exactly does a musical arranger do? Sean O’Loughlin, who has created arrangements for the Cowboy Junkies concerts with the Boston Pops taking place this weekend, explains the process. O'Loughlin went from Symphony Hall bartender to specialist in musical arrangements for rock bands playing alongside classical orchestras. He's worked with the Decemberists, Pink Martini, and Belle & Sebastian, among others.
