So, did any of you venture out this past Saturday morning? Gorgeous early-spring day, plenty of sun, slight breeze. Unless you were in Salisbury. It was windy. And that "slight breeze" felt like a fresh gale. Add to that the fact that high tide pretty much coincided with the start of the Smuttynose Palooza 5K, and you had some wet and cold conditions to deal with.

But that didn't stop me, Adam Salsman, and Elizabeth Comeau--the #ProjectAdam crew--from having a helluva time and putting up some impressive times! You can read all about it right here on the Get Moving blog, then scroll down to listen to the songs that kept me motivated to finish my very first 5K in 27:55.

Any good run should start here. Mine certainly did.

Kept the energy up with some indie rock. Something newer...

...then something older.

I need punk to keep me up, so next it was a pair from The Shods: "Lucky" and this:

Queens Of The Stone Age have been getting the job done lately, too. So I threw in a trio of their tunes: "Sick, Sick, Sick," "3's and 7's," and, of course, "Little Sister." That's the one that kicked me into gear. I kept pace w/the beat and never looked back.

"Echoes" from Klaxons was playing when I crossed the finish line, but it never finished. I did. Big thanks to Elizabeth and Adam for getting me involved and keeping me motivated. I will run again. And post another kick-ass playlist when I do.
