Juliana Hatfield: indie-rock star, Spin and Sassy covergirl, memoirist, painter.

And totally into Boston FBI chief Richard DesLauriers (below), as her tweet (above) makes clear.

Not exactly what you'd expect from the hipster lady responsible for this and this. But who can blame her? The guy was involved with breaking what is arguably the biggest criminal case in Boston history. During a week when there wasn't a heck of a lot to do besides nervously obsess over things on television and the internet, she certainly wasn't the only one to take note of the lantern-jawed lawman.

So maybe DesLauriers is to the Boston Marathon bombing case as Dale Cooper was to Twin Peaks?

In case you were buried under a rock, DesLauriers was at the center of the investigation all last week. He stood up at press conferences and said all kinds of badassy stuff, like this:

And he isn't one to mince words. He was among the first to drop the T-bomb:

Even Boston Police Chief Ed Davis kind of has a thing for him: He is quiet, but he has a forceful mantra about him, Davis told the Globe's Milton Valencia in a profile of DesLauriers published yesterday. Added US Attorney Carmen Ortiz, "hes very straight-laced, by the book, a real G-Man when you think of the FBI.

The Boston FBI boss has a resume to match his mantra. In addition to leading the effort to capture the Marathon Bombing suspects, DesLauriers also led the Boston office's efforts to nab Whitey Bulger and bust a Russian spy ring in Cambridge. Read more about him in the Globe's profile here.
