Hey, remember audio watermarks? No? OK, rewind: once upon a time, there were these things called record labels who sort of owned the music industry? And WHOLE MONTHS before an album was released to the public, these entities would secretly mail a CD version of the album to the press. But these labels had the wildly misguided notion that they could PREVENT THE PRESS FROM LEAKING THE ALBUM, so they recorded goofy voices saying weird phrases over the music every 20 seconds.

We'd completely forgotten about audio watermarks until East Village Radio evidently decided they absolutely needed to get all of the credit -- ALL OF THE CREDIT! -- for leaking a new Beyonc-ified version of Amy Winehouse's "Fade To Black" on their airwaves. The person doing the leaking happened to be Mark Ronson, who produced the original. So now when we listen to the new version, we have to endure what is probably the most annoying watermark since 2006's legendary "Atlantic Records, TI Clearance."

ANDRE 3000 & BEYONCE: BACK TO BLACK

Anyway: there is now on planet earth a version of Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black" that starts off with Outkast's Andre 3000 singing and gets better when Beyonce starts singing. History will likely record that you listened up to the part where Beyonce started singing, and then shortly thereafter we all lost interest and went back to looking at photos of Beyonce's latest tour, because . . . well, because this:

. . . and this:

Also: Amy's dad doesn't like this version, and Beyonce isn't letting press photographers into her tour. Sad trombone.

GO: Beyonce, July 23 at TD Garden.
