If you're thinking about attending tonight's panel discussion at Emerson's Cutler Majesic Theater -- it's entitled "Boston After the Bombings: A Public Conversation of Hope & Healing," and will be helmed by Tom Ashbrook, host of WBUR's syndicated news magazine On Point -- you won't have to pay a dime. It's free with online registration. But WBUR organizers do have one request, which we're sure you'll understand:

**Please refrain from bringing large bags and backpacks to the theater.

You don't say?

Ashbrook's guests will include Boston Globe columnist Kevin Cullen, who has written a grip of great columns this week -- among them, the piece on fallen MIT cop Sean Collier's family that Joe Biden quoted from in this afternoon's emotional memorial service. He'll be joined by Boston Foundation's Paul Grogan and On Point analyst Jack Beatty.

Meanwhile, across the river, Boston Police Department Chief Ed Davis is among the officials gathering at the John F. Kennedy Jr Forum at Harvard's Institute of Politics for "Boston Marathon Tragedy and Aftermath," a panel discussion moderated by Harvard Kennedy School dean David Ellwood. Among the other panelists: Mass Emergency Managament Agency director Kurt Schwartz, the Globe's national security columnist Juliette Kayyem, Harvard Divinity School dean David Hempton, and WBZ anchor David Wade. It kicks off at 6 pm, and it'll be streaming live at JFK Jr. Forum site.
