RadioBDC is serious about our commitment to great music, so every week we scour the Boston music scene to pick out the best of the best.

Here are this week's picks:

Tonight, April 2:

The Scotsmen you saw on Conan last month, Frightened Rabbit, are in town, playing at House of Blues with Wintersleep. They're about to release their new EP, Backyard Skulls. ($22+ / All ages / Doors at 7 p.m.)

Wednesday, April 3:

Local favorites Air Traffic Controller are at T.T. the Bear's Place with Friendly People, The Boston Boys, and Nick Hakim. Check out a video of Air Traffic Controller playing a RadioBDC Live in the Lab show, in case you missed it. ($8 / 18 + / Doors at 8:30 p.m.)

882611_10151355828145969_416589467_o.jpgAllison Weiss, a power-pop singer/songwriter with a strong DIY ethos, will be at Great Scott with Pentimento, Candy Hearts, and Maura. ($10 / 18+ / Doors at 9 p.m.)

Thursday, April 4:

My homeboys Ozomatli (Go LA!) are at the Middle East Downstairs with Mad Satta. If you haven't heard of Ozo, you're seriously missing out on a really great mix of funk, rap, rock and latin influence. These guys, once just the heroes of Los Angeles, are now Cultural Ambassadors of the US State Department and accompanied the Boston Pops for their 125th anniversary. ($25 / 18+ / Doors at 8 p.m.)

Family of the Year are at Brighton Music Hall with The Mowgli's. Click here to win tickets and don't miss their RadioBDC Live in the Lab at 1:30, streaming live on Boston.com. ($13 / 18+ / Doors at 8 p.m.)

Friday, April 5:

Our friends Pretty and Nice, fresh off a tour and an appearance at SXSW, invite you to a FREE listening party for their new full-length album at Store 54. (7:30 to 9:30 p.m.)

All-out rock n rollers The View and Stanley Odd are just around the corner at Brighton Music Hall. ($12 / 18+ / Doors at 8 p.m.)

Saturday, April 6:

Occupy movement offshoot Strike Debt and Occupy Boston will host an afternoon of information on fighting student loan debt, free food and music at the Middle East Upstairs. The event is free and features author Dan Clawson, plus music from Rick Berlin & The Nickel and Dime Band, Licious with Kelsey Brown, and DJ Ultratumba. (Doors at 1 p.m.)

Sunday, April 7:

The 34th annual Rock n Roll Rumble begins at T.T. the Bear's Place! Opening night bands are: The Okay Win, Cancer Killing Gemini, The New Highway Hymnal, and Velah. There's also an opening night reception from 8 to 9, hosted by Indie Rock Ranger. ($8 / 18+ / Doors at 8 p.m.)
