How many Bostonians are telling Arkansas state senator Nate Bell he's an idiot?

Oh, well, that's simple: lots. Why? Well, remember last Thursday night? You know, when we were all watching our police force battle block-to-block in our neighborhoods with homicidal, cop-killing terrorists armed with explosives? Arkansas state senator Nate Bell thought that would be a good time to send this tweet:

Yup. He went there. (You can't find the remark anymore on Twitter, but you can read his apology ... and comments ... on Facebook)

So now Boston is going there, too.

From our social-media experts . . .

. . . to our politicians . . .

. . . even the guy from MIT's Civic Media Lab found himself in a not-so-civil mood . . .

. . . our cat-mystery novelists think he's not a nice person . . .

. . . I repeat, OUR CAT MYSTERY NOVELISTS!!!

. . . Boston-based politics blogger Charlie Pierce put it succinctly . . .

. . . and a community organizer from a neighborhood that was hit the hardest . . .

. . . and I really don't think you wanted to get on this person's wrong side . . .

. . . and some people thought Nate might be compensating . . .

. . . oh and by the way . . .

. . . you should have remembered what the internet said about us . . .

That was just the beginning. It wasn't just Boston . . .

. . . or California . . .

. . . or wherever . . .

. . . or Chris Bosch (not that Chris Bosh) . . .

. . . but we'll let a former Bostonian have the last word, since he put it so poetically . . .
