Screen Shot 2013-06-25 at 10.22.25 AM.pngRadioBDC is proud to present the world's first-ever social media-generated music chart and daily countdown show: The Social Countdown.

What kind of magic is this, you ask?

Well, we use a technology developed by our friends at PointsLocal and Redefined called TrendTracks – it takes data from a plethora of sources (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Spotify, Last.fm, and upvoting right here on Boston.com), then mixes it with a special sauce, and ta-dah! A music chart based completely on what people are talking about and listening to, with up-to-second accuracy.

Until now, radio charts were made days and weeks in advance, and they were assembled by executives at radio stations and record companies who told you what you should be listening to. At RadioBDC, we're giving the power to the people, and we play what you want to listen to, based on the aforementioned formula.

Every weekday at 5 p.m., Adam 12 will count down the top 10 tracks on the Social Countdown, which were decided by you and shifting all day. At 4:59, we shut down voting, and reopen it at 6 p.m., ready to compile the chart for the next day.

So, if you want to support a certain band or song, talk about it, tweet about it, and upvote it, because after all, this is the countdown you control.
