There will be eighteen jurors for Whitey Bulger's trial, reported Mike Bello this morning. Jury selection got underway this morning after Bulger was introduced to the groups of prospective jurors wearing an orange prison jumpsuit.

Judge Denise Casper announced that her goal is to have opening statements begin Monday morning. Until then, prospective jurors will be questioned by the court, and those who are unable to serve will be dismissed over the following days.

Bulger himself does not have a say in who gets chosen, although his attorney does, explained Bello. Lawyers from both sides, as well as the judge, will be looking at the 675 prospective jurors with in-depth detail, until the final pool is decided on for the three-month trial.

Hear more about this developing story from Mike Bello.
