Today is the last day this week that we'll hear testimony in the Whitey Bulger trial. Yesterday, the court listened to testimony from former FBI supervisor John Morris and admitted drug dealer Joseph Tower.

Morris apologized to victim's family for his role in the 1982 killing of Michael Donahue. He said that he felt sorry for his "indirect" role in the murder, said Bello. According to observers, this was the first apology from a member of the FBI since the trial began.

Tower made a later alliance with Bulger and his gang, although he was already dealing drugs in the area when the two connected. Bulger has long claimed that he wasn't involved in dealing drugs, but this testimony "obviously smashes that to smithereens," said Bello.

Today, prosecutors played jailhouse recordings from Bulger at the Plymouth County House of Corrections where Bulger can be heard speaking about one of the murders he's allegedly tied to.

In other crime news, Aaron Hernandez is in jail in Bristol County. The former Patriots tight end is charged with murder, and the investigation is ongoing.
