All week RadioBDC will be releasing exclusive video from artists and the scenes around Boston Calling at City Hall Plaza on Sept. 7 and 8, 2013. Today we look at a couple clips from the weekend's headliners, Vampire Weekend and Passion Pit. (To see both interviews in full length, visit our Boston Calling video archive page)

First up is Boston.com's Rachel Raczka with Michael Angelakos of Passion Pit in the band's trailer before they took the stage to close out night two. In this clip, Angelakos talks about Passion Pit's connection to Boston, and decisions to play The Pill at Great Scott instead of sharing the stage with four bands at a rock show during the early years. In his opinion, the band would not be as successful if not for decisions like that. We also learn about his selection of ties, a recent flood that nearly destroyed all the band's equipment, and that yellow Tootsie Pops are indeed banana and not chocolate. And you get a high five (see below the clip).

RadioBDC's Paul Driscoll sat down with Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig in the band's tour bus on day one. In this clip, Koenig discusses the song "Step" on the band's latest album, which is a song carried over from many years ago and finally released.
